Objective #1
Develop a comprehensive review of current federally regulated programs and services within and available to First Nations by analyzing their overall objectives, intent, mode of delivery, accountability, and incorporation of a First Nation disability and gender-based lens.
Objective #2
Conduct an environmental scan of the physical accessibility features and barriers within First Nations communities, including remote, rural, and urban communities; cross-reference the availability and limitations of of current programs and services available to address identified accessibility barriers in communities.
Objective #3
Produce accessible reports that highlight findings and develop recommendations to address and inform the development of new standards and the revision of existing standards, specifically under the Accessible Canada Act.
Objective #4
Expand public knowledge as it relates to the Accessible Canada Act and identify methods for communities to become involved in accessible legislation.
Objective #5
Disseminate research results, identified accessibility resources, and best practices to First Nations communities in the form of easily digestible material.
