Ethics

As Indigenous people and allies, it is our hope to achieve our project goals through meaningful collaboration with First Nations Peoples across Canada. We recognize that the success of this work depends on fair partnerships with First Nation communities, and that these partnerships are fostered through strong, respectful, effective, and ethical relationships. Our research process is built on the foundations of honesty and integrity, and we are committed to conducting work that has true and accurate results while respecting the confidentiality of our partners. We will prioritize informed and ongoing consent at all stages of this project. We respect Indigenous traditional ways of knowing, being, and doing; our work will reflect this respect. We recognize that any information gained from our partners is a gift that should be treated carefully. We promise to protect all individuals, communities, and organizations that choose to collaborate with us. In addition to the ethical guidelines outlined below, we adhere to the Tri-Council Policy and OCAP.
